Restaurants for Upscale Dining in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the kind of place you go to live a life of luxury, no matter the cost. That means having to spend a few hundred dollars on dinner too. It’s all worth it though, as LA is the place to be to find the best food around. You’ll enjoy some of the finest food and wine money can buy in the big city. Here are some of the best restaurants for upscale dining in Los Angeles.

  1. Urasawa
  2. Urasawa is a Japanese restaurant and sushi bar that happens to be among the most expensive – and exclusive – restaurants in all of Los Angeles. Be sure to book well ahead of time as the master chef here, Hiroyuki Urasawa, serves just ten people every night.

What makes the restaurant so luxurious, outside of the exclusivity, is the intimate experience, the secrecy of it all, and the 30-course menu that changes on a daily basis. Many consider Urasawa to be the ultimate in sushi and it is definitely the place to be for any fan of Japanese dining. Instagram influencers should not apply, however, as the servers kindly ask visitors to not take any photographs while they are there.

  1. Providence
  2. The plethora of fine dining experiences is one of the key perks of investing in Los Angeles luxury real estate. Providence has been around for over ten years now and has earned a great reputation in that time. The restaurant is built on a seafood-centric menu that offers the finest fish around, with fish served based on the season to promote sustainable fishing.

Executive Chef Michael Cimarusti is also the co-owner of the restaurant and he has a deep knowledge of – and history with – seafood. This is apparent as soon as you see the food before you, not to mention taste it. Try the Uni in Yuzu or the Sashimi and you’ll see what we mean. It doesn’t get much better than this. It costs a little more to have the food paired with the right wine, but it doesn’t get much more extravagant than fish and wine.

  1. Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air
  2. Wolfgang Puck is the king of kings when it comes to celebrity chefs. Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air embraces the culture of healthy Californian cuisine through fresh ingredients and innovative dishes. Guests can enjoy a selection of set five-to-seven course meals, or take their pick with a la carte ordering direct from the menu.

The menu itself is packed full of incredible food from caviar, truffles, beef cheeks, Tokyo turnips, and a stunning 32oz porterhouse steak. The menu changes by the season so there’s always something new to try and enjoy here.

  1. Maude
  2. Maude is the homeplace of Chef Curtis Stone. There were lots of rumors and ideas about what the place would be like when it opened up in 2014, but no one could have predicted the fine dining experience Chef Stone provided Los Angeles with.

Stone stays very much hands-on in the restaurant with his seasonal menu that changes by the month. The restaurant is pretty exclusive, with room for just 25 people. The lucky few get to enjoy a nine-course meal highlighting the freshest ingredients in town. The complete experience lasts for around 2 and a half hours and is well worth the money.

  1. CUT by Wolfgang Puck
  2. Wolfgang Puck is back with CUT. CUT is nothing short of a game-changer for the Los Angeles fine dining scene. It’s considered to be in the top three steakhouses in the entire world, never mind just LA. Just walk through the door and you’ll know you’ve made the right choice to eat here.

You’ll have your choice of entrees that are grilled over wood and charcoal and finished using a broiler. From there, you can move on to the best beef in America or Japanese Wagyu beef imported directly from Miyazaki Prefecture in Kyushu. Puck is known to stop by from time to time so don’t be surprised if you see him around.
